- I fished the Delaware and a couple area
lakes. The river was up due to run-off
from melting snow. It was a reversal
of the previous week, clear tributaries and
a discolored Delaware. There were a
few boat fishermen. Lots of fishing,
no catching. A local fish market is
selling shad roe, "1st of the
season". So it won't be long
before the shad begin showing up in
numbers. I did manage two small 4
pound carp. It's time to tie
everything under the sun, Deceivers for
walleyes, crayfish for carp, shad flies and
some springtime steelhead flies too.

- Both days I came up empty handed, but I
used the time to try new flies and equipment
while fishing the Delaware. Sunday's
unseasonably warm weather caused many of the
tributaries to be discolored due to run-off
from melting snow. A few others were
fishing; nothing was being caught.
All-in-all, it was a day to get out and
enjoy 50-60 degree temperatures despite the
stiff breeze. A few fishermen were
still fishing Lake Galena even though much
of the lake had puddles on the ice and some
open water.
