- Well there you have it. If I hadn't
said anything in my previous report the
Delaware probably would've been good fishing
this weekend. This morning's early
rain appears to have brought the river up to
the same levels as last Friday. If you
do attempt to fish under these conditions
watch the current, don't wade out too far,
consider an inflatable life preserver waist
pack and walk slowly. The water will
be sufficiently murky that the bottom will
be difficult to see.

- I re-visited the Delaware River and my
favorite trib. Both areas were roughly
2-3 feet above normal. The Delaware
was still ripping and pushed me back to fish
the trib. Although the water was high
it was fishable. In less than 3 hours,
I managed to land two smallmouth bass on a
small purple woolly bugger. The
largest measured 18" and fought
well. Water temperature was noticeably
warmer in the trib. verse the Delaware
River. 1.5"-2" bait was
plentiful. Provided we don't receive
any additional rain, this coming weekend
should be excellent. The river should
continue to warm.

- I checked out the Delaware River and a
favorite tributary above New Hope, PA.
The water was high and discolored, but
fishable. I decided not to fish, but
instead scouted the water looking for shad
and carp. The water appeared devoid of
fish, probably a little on the cold side at
approximately 46 degrees Fahrenheit.
