5Nov - 01Dec05 - I fished Chincoteague and Assateague Island (Virginia side) and managed to land seven fish between 21 and 44 inches.  All but one fish were in the 20-inch class.  Water was clear at first but turned dirty towards the end of my trip.  All fish were caught using a 3/0 olive Vineyard Minnow.

19Nov05 - Stan Lupo, John Kulesa and I fished the incoming tide this morning at Sandy Hook, NJ.  False Point located north of the North Beach parking lot produced several small blues and bass for a handful of pluggers that were fishing beside us.  Among the three of us I managed the only fish, a small 12" flounder.  The flounder was caught on an olive Vineyard Minnow.  I also fished an Olive and Cerise Deceiver without luck.  Bait was little or non-existent.  Water clarity was good and by the picture below you can tell we were bundled-up; temperatures were in the high 30's to the high 50's.  In an attempt to find bait I fished the bayside around Plum Island.  I decide to call it a day after fishing an hour without seeing any bait or fish activity.  Overall, Sandy Hook produced limited success on Saturday.  The fish were small and sporadic.

06 - 13Nov05 - My girlfriend and I spent this week traveling Italy (Rome, Siena, Florence and Venice).  Although this trip was designed more as a vacation than a fishing excursion, I still attempted to fit fly fishing in too (unsuccessfully).  Prior to our trip I performed as much research as I could via the Internet; searching for locations, fly shops and the sort.  Because it was a tour I knew I'd have roughly one free day to fish.  My research produced what appeared to be the best possible choice, www.flyfishingitaly.com.  They offered an afternoon fishing excursion to a local Florence lake.  I sent off a nice email written in both English and Italian inquiring more information.  The end result, for whatever reason no correspondence ever resulted on their end.  Since the purpose of this trip was not fly fishing by design I ceased my efforts to fly fish a new country.  With that said, I can report the following. Central to northern Italy received heavy rains for three days prior to our arrival.  Most if not all streams would've been unfishable the beginning part of the week due to poor water clarity.  As the week progressed streams in the mountains and smaller streams in the valleys would've been fishable.  These streams appeared a brilliant turquoise.  The trip was enjoyable and the countryside beautiful.

05Nov05 - I fished Lake Nockamixon from 9:00 - 10:30 AM and managed one very healthy looking 12" largemouth bass.  It was caught using a small Vineyard Minnow, Redfish color.  While I was fishing, water was being released from the bottom of the dam into Tohickon Creek.  Conditions were beautiful.  Some surface activity was seen.
