27Aug05
- I fished Tohickon Creek below Lake
Nockamixon from 10:00 - 11:00. The water was
the lowest I've ever seen and heavily algaed-over. One other fishermen was fishing bait, but
commented he had no luck. I only witnessed
small bluegills and smallmouth bass up to 6
inches. No fish were caught.

20Aug05 - I
fished the Yellow Breeches (PA) from 7:30 -
11:30 in the morning and then again from
8:00 - 9:30 in the evening. The water was
slightly discolored. Hatches in the morning
and throughout the day were non-existent.
From 7:30 - 11:30 I managed several hits on
a size 22 comparadun trico. I caught one
trout on a size 10 olive wooly bugger,
another on a size 16 black deer hair beetle
and a third on a size 16 sulfur wet fly. The
evening was fantastic. Three prolific
hatches occurred simultaneously; hexagenia,
white flies and small craneflies. In the
course of 90 minutes I landed two and missed
several others. Fish were actively feeding.
At one point I saw four fish jump at the
same time in a pool the size of a small
room. Fish were caught on a size 16 Ausable
Wulff. Other good fly choices would've been
a size 8 nymph or emerger hexagenia, a size
14 White Wulff and a size 18 cream-orange
cranefly.
